Thank you Mohammad for this post… I was expecting it from you any day now, especially when time of valediction is approaching, and finding the right words to say at such time, and in person, would be very difficult… speaking for myself here.
It’s not easy to part with a doyen such as Professor Mumtaz, words fall short off interpreting true sincerity, and gratitude to his genuine personality that contributed and will continue to do, through out the course of his career.
Just as you Mohammad, I was lucky to be considered one of his apprentices. I attended his classes for a short time, and grew to be deeply inspired by his dedication and earnestness, I can imagine what others, who have worked with him longer, might feel.
It’s very sad and disheartening, but then I’m certain that our loss is far greater, and more profound than his.
To may great Moalim and Ustath, thank you sir for your originality and sincerity, and I hope my words aren’t considered crass or ill mannered, for this is what I truly feel, and I might be speaking for all here, And if it wasn’t for this space I wouldn’t have the chance to convey them appropriately.
And thank you Bo Hassan again, for giving me/us the chance.
Regards to all

I wish I had known about this gathering.
It is unfortunate that the LIS department fails to keep in touch with its alumni via an email or newsletters
